High Prairie Fire accepts several types of donations.
High Prairie Fire relies on tax money received from property owners, donations, and grants. The tax money we receive primarily covers our non-negotiables such as insurance, utilities, taxes, fuel, etc. Training costs, medical and fire supplies and gear, etc. are funded primarily through donations and grants.
Here's how you can help:
Monetary:
Monetary donations are always appreciated and accepted.
Our Amazon Wishlist:
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/KZIMAXHYA7MU
We have included non-perishable food items we use on fire scenes, medical supplies we use on medical calls, office supplies, and a couple larger items that we do not have room in the budget for this year.
Buildings:
If you have an old house or building you need demolished, consider having it burned. There is no better training for firefighters than working in a live fire environment. Donating a building for a “Burn To Learn” provides valuable training opportunity for your local fire department, while reducing your demolition and cleanup costs.
Vehicles:
Patient extrication from motor vehicle collisions (MVCs) is one of our highest priorities. Every year we have several accidents where patients must be removed from crumpled cars with our rescue tools (known as “Jaws of Life”). We use every opportunity we can to train for these type of incidents. If you would like to donate a vehicle, we can pick it up and provide you with a letter of receipt for tax purposes.
If you would like to make a donation, please email Chief Hancock at [email protected] or our Administrative Assistant at [email protected].

- You can donate to us in person or by mail, preferably by check.
- High Prairie Community Council (HPCC) holds several fundraising events that support our volunteer fire department throughout the year.
- Unfortunately, we do not accept Paypal, Cash App, Venmo, or similar at this time. Klickitat County maintains and controls Fire District bank accounts which makes accepting payments with those apps difficult. We are currently researching how we can in the future.
