Klickitat County Fire Protection District #14 - High Prairie is a rural volunteer fire department located in south central Washington state, a few miles northeast of Lyle, Washington. We provide fire, rescue, and medical response services to 50.25 square miles which includes almost 400 residents and several state, federal, and tribal properties. Our department has an automatic response agreement with Klickitat County Fire Protection District #4 - Lyle covering another 26 square miles which includes an additional 950 residents and mutual aid agreements with Klickitat, Skamania, Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman counties. Currently, we have 18 active volunteers. Of those 18 volunteers, we have 14 certified wildland firefighters, 2 certified Paramedics, 2 certified Emergency Medical Technicians, and 1 certified Emergency Medical Responder. All volunteers are trained in CPR/First Aid, wildland, structure, and vehicle fire suppression, emergency vehicle operations, vehicle extrication, the incident command system, infection control, and Hazmat. We also have volunteers trained in Peer Support.
